Currently, we are transitioning volunteer systems. Volunteer opportunities should begin to open up early next year. If you have questions, please email our Volunteer Care Director or call at 574-400-3209.

Some builds are open to the public, so that you can volunteer freely an as individual. Some builds have days that are reserved for businesses and organizations. Those businesses or organizations have “Teams” that anyone volunteering with that business or organization must join.

After clicking volunteer, you can volunteer as an individual to see what dates are available.

You must sign a waiver to be out on the build site when you sign up to volunteer.

Joining or Starting a Campaign is a great way to raise funds for a build that you feel passionate about, because you can easily share it with your friends on social media and get them to donate. And then they share it with their friends, and those friends share it with their friends.

If you would like to donate you can:

A.) Donate to Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County

B.) Donate to a Campaign for a specific home build

No amount of support is too small. Your dollar goes directly to provide decent, affordable, and safe shelter for more families in St. Joe County. Because everyone deserves a decent place to live.

Women Build began with a group of women who believe in a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Women Build recruits and educates women and men to build and advocate for decent and affordable houses in their communities. In 2016, hundreds of volunteers got their hands dirty and built a stable place for Leanne and her son to call home. Women Build 2017 is inviting you to join us in building a home for a partner family this year.
Our Matthew 25 Church Build is led by a coalition of local churches, who help bring together volunteers and funds to help a Habitat Future Homeowner own their very own home. Last year, our church community banded together to build and fund a home for Clara and her two daughters. This year will mark the 26th home built by Matthew 25. If you would like to support this build, please donate or start a campaign today.

Notre Dame Student Build

Notre Dame students come together, organizing volunteers and raising funds, to build a safe and affordable home for a local family in need. Your donation, your time, and your voice helps build strength, stability, and independence for a Habitat for Humanity future homeowner. Thank you for your support of the Notre Dame Student Chapter of Habitat for Humanity!

Notre Dame Athletics Build

The ND Athletics Build is sponsored by the Notre Dame Athletics Department. Players, coaches, trainers, and staff from all your favorite teams come out to see what affordable housing can do for a community. Volunteering, donating, and fundraising campaigns are open to anyone wishing to support the Notre Dame Athletics family.
At our Youth Build, we are able to get young people in our community out on site to build shelter for a hard-working family. These young adults also contribute to affordable housing by raising funds and gathering volunteers. Usually groups from local schools come out to the job site. Anyone ages 16 and up can volunteer, but ages 16-17 must be accompanied by an adult.
Our ReStore build is sponsored by our very own ReStores, located on Grape Road in Mishawaka and South Main Street in South Bend. Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. All proceeds generated are used by Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County to build more homes within our local communities. Any person or group in welcome to volunteer, donate, or fundraise for this build!
In 2015, Habitat for Humanity launched our Veteran’s Initiative, so that we could place our first ever Military Veteran into a Habitat Home. In 2016, we achieved that goal, and we are looking forward to partnering with more and more Veterans in our community. If you are a Veteran interested in homeownership, please visit our Homeownership page. Please click the Donate button if you would like to donate or fundraise to support our first Veteran Family.

Home Builders Association (HBA) Build

The HBA Build is sponsored by the local Home Builders Association. This will be the first ever HBA Build! All the funding and volunteers for this build will be provided by HBA Members. We are lucky to have them working with us!

Tire Rack Build

In 2015, Tire Rack made the momentous decision to sponsor an entire house. They committed funds, and they committed volunteers every day by sending their employees to the build site to work and sweat with us. They work with our organization because they trust us, and because they have seen the impact a stable home can have on a family. All volunteer days for this build are filled (with dedicated Tire Rack Employees, of course) and all funding has been secured through Tire Rack! We are so grateful for the help of a great organization in our community. Their build began in September 2015, and will conclude in May 2016.
