Volunteers are the heart and soul of Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County. By donating your time, you help families in need of a safe, decent, and affordable home. You will work alongside future homeowners as they complete their “sweat equity,” working towards purchasing their home with an affordable mortgage. Volunteering is a great way to connect to the community as an individual, group, or organization. We rely on volunteers to accomplish our mission of building homes, communities, and hope.

You do not need construction experience to volunteer with us; you will receive all the instruction you need on the build site at the morning orientation. We just ask that you wear appropriate clothing, wear closed-toes shoes, and respect our rules.

Thank you for your willingness to serve our community.

Volunteer safety is important to us. With the recent news of COVID 19 (Coronavirus) outbreak we’d like to remind all volunteers of basic precautionary measures you can take — at home or on-site. Download this important information from The World Health Organization.
